Then and Now

In 2020, Stevens Transport initiated a mentor program for new drivers. They recruited 12 experienced drivers, including me, to help new drivers overcome the difficulties of being in a truck by themselves for the first time.

The program was, in many ways, a success, and I helped hundreds of drivers over nearly three years. The mentors were compensated by Stevens Transport for their efforts and for assisting the drivers in becoming successful, safe, and compliant with the law.

Unfortunately, they decided to close down the program, and we were no longer able to help new drivers.

My Mentor Program

I realized that no matter how good a trainer was, and no matter how good a student was, that the student could not remember everything, and some things could not be taught in the 240 hours of training.

I had been, off and on, working on a "How To" book for drivers for several years while running as a trainer and mentor for Stevens Transport. Many, many of my mentees and students told me that a book would give them the ability to do their job better, and be less frustrated. This book was going to be distributed for free as a PDF to all drivers.

The problem that I ran into was, it is a technical manual filled with lots of valid information, it was difficult for the average person to utilize due to the overwhelming amount of information. The drivers that read my initial drafts could not get through it, and therefore could not benefit from the knowledge.

The mentor program was shut down by Stevens Transport, and I stopped entirely on my writing.

Then, after talking with some previous mentees and students, I realized that I should start the program up myself as a free service to drivers, new and experienced. I wanted to come up with a way to make the information more accessible in a convent and easy manner, so I decided to build a website.

I am NOT a artistic person, and this will never be a pretty website, but it will hopefully be a resource for drivers to be able to learn how to do practically everything that needs doing and help drivers become successful.

I offer this service for FREE to any driver who works for Stevens Transport. You man join my mentor program for FREE and this will allow you to call, text or email me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If I am sleeping when you try to contact me, I will respond when I get up. I turn my phone off while sleeping, to ensure a restful slumber.
